Wonderful Beyond Words
We pioneered Wordless Videos for global lifelong learning in 2015 — early on in our mission to bring LIFE into Social Emotional Learning (SEL). To bring the world into our learning environments. We’ve continued to improve our approach and design because of the impact teachers are seeing, and we do so alongside educators and students. That’s what makes our content so unique. We exist to adapt and continuously improve this curriculum. Weaving wordless videos with real human stories and lesson plans through our unique approach helps teachers, students, and parents to teach and learn key social skills and problem solving in school — and for homeschooling. All in a globally adaptive, globally engaging, and globally inclusive way. Some of the most important concepts in our lives are communicated without words, and so much of our human communication is “nonverbal”. Wordless videos give us a chance to engage in the practice of learning and wondering from an early age — in school! Natural curiosity practice.
Plus, words get pretty boring. Just look at the above paragraph. It’s so long. And it still has fewer words than most videos do. Let’s love lifelong learning beyond words.
No text captions, no narrator. Engage audiences of every age, everywhere. Help viewers immerse with their hearts first. Fuel curiosity that suspends judgment.
Wordless videos help us do something our world so badly needs: move beyond judgment. Prioritize curiosity before judgment. Learn to learn. Wordless videos give us the practice in learning and understanding. Let’s get out of the habit of being told information, absorbing it, memorizing it, and repeating it. Let’s learn to learn together.
Why Wordless Videos? Students Know:
This is the first time in my life I feel like I’m not being told what to think.
Everyone’s always telling me what to believe and how things work. I feel like now I get to think for myself.
I’m always wondering about stuff. This is so cool because I get to be curious while learning about the world.
Wordless Videos Resemble Real Life
Instead of telling viewers what to think, we want to ask you to think critically — to wonder. Instead of accidentally prescribing a fixed narrative, we want to intentionally prescribe deep curiosity.
What makes it even better? Our stories and lesson plans are written in many languages too, so weaving in wordless videos really makes Global Social Emotional Learning a fully localized experience for you(th) almost anywhere in the world.
Wordless Videos Improve Academic Learning
Wordless stories have been shown to boost curiosity and engagement, to improve reading comprehension and academic learning, and to help students explore topics that matter to them. These benefits are showing to be interconnected: fostering curiosity and a sense of purpose is fundamental for a student’s academic success, and early math and reading success is a strong predictor of long term success. New research is also showing that curiosity building can play a huge role in a student’s overall academic learning.
